What is an AI Scribe?

An AI scribe is a digital tool that uses artificial intelligence to help record the conversation between you and your doctor during your visit. It automatically creates a draft of your clinical notes.

Important to Note:

The AI does not make medical decisions. Every draft generated by the AI is thoroughly reviewed, edited, and approved by your doctor before it becomes part of your official medical record.

Why is Our Clinic Using an AI Scribe?

We use this tool to reduce the time our doctors spend on paperwork, allowing them to focus more of their attention on you, listening carefully and providing the best possible care.

How We Protect Your Privacy

We take the security of your personal health information very seriously. The AI scribe we use strictly complies with all applicable Canadian privacy laws:

• PIPEDA (Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act): Governs how personal information is handled in commercial activities.

• PHIPA (Personal Health Information Protection Act): Governs how personal health information is collected, used, and disclosed in Ontario.

Data Security & Standards

• All data is fully encrypted during transmission and storage in compliance with PIPEDA standards. The AI scribe only temporarily records the audio during your visit to generate the draft note. It is not retained or used for any other purpose. Our AI scribe is selected from the Vendor of Record (VOR) list established by OntarioMD, a program jointly overseen by the Ontario Ministry of Health and the Ontario Medical Association (OMA).

You Are Always in Control

• You may decline the use of the AI scribe or withdraw your consent at any time.

• Your health information is used solely to document your visit. It will never be used for AI model training, product development, marketing, or sold to third parties.
